NDIS provides funding to people with permanent & significant disability
- The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) offers financial support to individuals with permanent and significant disabilities to help them access the necessary services and support to improve their quality of life.
- Of the 4.3 million Australians with a disability, NDIS is currently financing support and services for more than 550,000 individuals.
- This figure is projected to rise to 741,000 by 2026, with an estimated 189,000 new participants in the next four years.*
Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA)

SDA encompasses a variety of housing options that cater to individuals with severe functional impairment or very high needs.
These options are classified into four categories: improved liveability, robust construction, fully accessible, and high physical support.
SDA is poised to grow
- As of September 30th, 2022, there were 7,334 SDA dwellings, with an additional 773 new SDA dwellings added in the preceding 12 months. *
- Furthermore, as of the same date, there were 1,559 individuals seeking an SDA dwelling. *
- By 2026, a total of 2,460 new dwellings will be required to meet the demand. *
